Triform Media Group

Triform Media Group (TMG) has been active since October 2015. It is a new way for Triform to work with students. The group is comprised of two Students (Alex T. and Hannah P.) and one Apprentice (Cheney R.) The Co-workers are Aroon and Laura.

At the beginning, we were not sure where and how to start. Then, thanks to the generosity of Marika Partrdige, who not only donated recording equipment but also provided initials lessons in how to produce radio programs.

The first two months we have been experimenting with sounds. We have been taking interviews of each other and sometimes going to Hudson to record different ambiances. In January, we visited the local radio station WGXC in Hudson. They were extremely generous and supportive of our initiative. Lynn, the station manager at WGXC Hudson, gave us an overview of the equipment and we played a few of our recordings on their equipment. Hannah was on the mic and it was a blast!

The "Camphill Radio Show" will be broadcasted on WGXC and also uploaded as a podcast file on our website. Eventually our goal is to reach out to the wider audience outside Camphill Communities. TMG would like to cover personal stories of co-workers, students, volunteers and employees who make our community special. We would like to cover workshops, festivals, events and perhaps happenings in the other communities in the region.  We plan to be on air by the end of March 2016.

Looking forward,
Aroon for the Triform Media Group

Kaspar Hauser Festival and Play by Chloe Rovits

This October, actors from Camphills Triform, Copake, Ghent, Hudson, and beyond were busy rehearsing a play that tells the story of Kaspar Hauser's enigmatic life and mysterious death. The production, Carlo Pietzner's "And Out of the Night, Kaspar," was one of the many events of the Kaspar Hauser Festival - a four day coming-together spread between the four local Camphill communities. After the logistical difficulties of finding time for a dozen coworkers of different communities to rehearse together, we began the next trying task of unraveling the words of Pietzner. The play takes us on a nonlinear journey across time and space to catch glimpses of Kaspar's interactions with the forces of good and evil. As a young child of royal birth, Kaspar was switched with a sickly infant and henceforth locked away in a small dark basement cell for 15 formative years of his life. Following his sudden release he was haphazardly and bewilderingly integrated into the rest of so...
